The built in one is handy for pins, clips & the occasional tool. I need something bigger for carrying chain. For the 10th time I've put it in the bucket & inadvertenly dumped it somewhere. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I did a search on Toolbox, but nothing came up for the little boomers.

I have an experiment going on; I bought a tool bag with long straps, several pockets and 2 zippered compartments. I adjusted the straps, hung it over the ROPS and let it settle on top of my top link. It's similar to this:

Still to be dertermined: how much it interferes with raising and lowering the 3PH (so far, OK). How waterproof it is - will the zippers keep out rain? How hard is it to empty out the pockets if they fill?

One thing I've already discovered - with a heavy load of tools in the compartments, it's tough to open and close the zippers when it's hanging. It's easier to unhook it, set it on a level spot, use the tools, zip it up again and hang it back on the ROPS.

It may turn out to be more trouble than it's worth, in which case I think I'll add a frame behind the seat and mount something like a Tuff Box. Jerry has already done something like that with his TC30, but I need a lot more space - I carry (or want to carry) a lot of junk.

Well, nothing like an honorable mention to prompt me into action. Heres the thread of which you spoke.

I've actually seen this done two other ways. Yes, right here on TBN!

1) Add a brace across the ROPS just behind the seat. Mount the toolbox on top of the brace.

2) Remove your seat and mount a flat box where the seat attaches and then mount your seat on top of that.

Just some thoughts.

I've been looking at this too. Sears sells a black diamond plate box for the back of a pick up truck. They have two sizes. The smaller size looks like it would fit very nicely behind the seat. If I recall, is is about 8" by 16" by 16", has a waterproof seal, a locking clasp and it is expensive. But quality usually is expensive.

The hard part would be building a bracket to hold it in place. I think it could be supported by building a bracket that attaches to the ROPS base on either side. It would hold the box up high enough to clear the top link. You'd have to reposition the Slow Moving Vehicle sign, probably by using an adhesive one right onto the box. And in the case of anyone with a rear Auxilury Light, that would have to be moved as well because, at least on mine, it is in the way. I would think a simple offset bracket could be made to move the light over a bit without getting in the way of the rear turn/hazard lights.

And the bad thing is it would probably prevent you from having access to the factory tool box. I didn't take formal measurements, but it might be possible to have LIMITED access to the factory box from under the new box.
