Picked this up at the auction with some other stuff. No Name on it. It works. #P90 is stamped on the handle between the valves and #G61 stamped on the side of the cutting attachment. I have no torch nozzles with it. Twin hose looks like 1/8 inch with the small connectors like the old soldering torches. We used to call these aircraft style. Limited capability and normally used with the little portable tanks.

Anybody know the brand and model and whether tips/nozzles are still available somewhere? I wold like to get a new cutting tip and 2-3 welding nozzles for light work.

I would take it to a supply house to try different tips. Although there's many brand names, there's not that many different configurations, esp in older equipment.

I think it is an old purox, from the Prestolite. Swallowed by ESAB and now deleted due to its purchase of Victor.

Mark, Thanks, you could be right. In my old refrigeration days Purox was popular at the Refrig supply houses and we used Prestolite soldering equipment a lot. The hose connectors at the torch are the same size as the Prestolite torches. I'll start carrying around in the truck and start stopping at welding suppliers. May luck out.

I cut my teeth on a lot of this vintage stuff.

X2 on the Purox, Looks like old Linde or Union Carbide era. I know it's earlier than L-Tec.

End of story: the torch is a Victor knock off of the J series torch handle and the 5 series cutting attachment. Welding/brazing tips are still made for the J series. The Victor OEMs are close to $100 ea but found other brands on Amazon down in the $30s and $40s. Ordered a 00, 1, and 3. The cutting tips are no longer made by Victor.

Browsing around on the net I found that "Regulator and Torch Exchange" has a source. Ordered a 00 and 1 from them. $50 and free shipping. https://www.regulatortorchrepair.com/index.php?co[step]=pay&co[thanks]=1

Now all I need is to get some twin hose with A-A fittings. Checking on those that are very flexible and good for propane. I need a nice flexible/soft whip for both that and my other torch.

They sell several lines and do repairs to regulators and torches of all brands.

Hmm. I have a J series and the knobs are 1/3 the size in the photos. I'll post pics.

I have found out that there were a lot of knock-offs of the J torches just like most things. That size and style were very popular. The HF O/A torches are also Victor knock-offs. The Victor type tips all work just fine. I have on of them.

HF hoses are way to stiff to have attached to the torch, therefore a lighter weight whip is needed. It beats you to a frazzle. That is another post of mine. When you are welding pipe in place and up in the air off a ladder or scaffold you cannot do good work with a stiff hose. That is why arc welders have a #2 wire whip on their stingers also.

When it comes to hose "T" hoses are rated for all fuels, "R" hose is rated for acetylene only....

Relic? I'm insulted. That's exactly like my current Purox setup, i.e. my only O/A set. hmm - maybe I'm a little out of date in what's the current units. I'll admit though, I don't use it very often.
