I just cobbled together a shed for my tractor at our hunting land. I bought a Shelterlogic 12x20 frame from my neighbor for $25. My other neighbor gave me some random tin for free. It's not pretty, but it is functional. I would like to paint it one color.

Has anyone used a Cheap Cordless Paint Sprayer for oil based exterior paint/enamel? I don't have electricity there, and this option would be easier than a generator, compressor and a spray gun.

Here's the shed:

Here's the type of spray gun I am considering:

Last year I painted this 24 x 40 ft, barn with the HF electric sprayer
I used Rustoleum thinned with acetone
The HF sprayer is 110 volt but the cordless sprayer should work just fine

Why bother painting it? If you make it pretty, someone will probably notice, think there must be something nice there - and worth stealing. If you get a battery one, get one that has the same batteries as you (may) already have and plan on throwing it away, rather than getting cleaned good for another job.

Actually, I want to paint it a color that blends in better.

I think it looks good enough for a $25 shed.

I have been told that paint wont stick to metal roofing unless you acid etch it first….but i havnt tried it to be sure.

Supposedly if you spray it down with vinegar paint will then stick... I have not tried it, just what I have been told.

have a corded vs , seems to be fine. prolly better then doing it with air. I will say it pushes a ton of air, I would be curious how long a battery would run in its place.

I don’t know about acid etching, I painted 39 year old white pole barn metal siding that was extremely chaulky and weathered to bare galvanized in some spots,
Power washed the walls, looked like milk running off, then hand scrubbed walls with TSP(trisodium phosphate) followed by a good rinse
After drying spot primer bare areas with primer good for galvanized metal then spray painted with Rustoleum industrial high VOC paint
It’s been over a year and looks as good as the day I painted
