Its been pretty quiet around here when it comes to XUVs.

I was on the John Deere website because i was bored, and they now make an 850d in the olive green colors. I'm not sure about the clutch enclosure though.

I finally sold my HPX and picked up my XUV last Friday. Love it. Front end is making noise like I've seen some other people report. I called the dealer and they said they've had several come back. Most of them they reset the backlash on the pinion gear to spec and on one unit they had to replace the entire front differential.

Otherwise I can't complain.

kinda makes you wonder if all the ones riding around and the dealers are telling them that it's normal to make the noise that they are just tearing up thier front diferentials little by little ?? then after the warranty is out your on your own. some dealers are honest and some will just feed you a line of bull just to get you out the door or off the phone. it seems like your dealer is a honest one .atleast he told you they had some come back and told you they are having problems with them.i asked the dealer by my house about them and he said what noise??me no hear no noise ?there are no problems! and i heard the noise when i drove it it was noisier than my hpx that's for sure.

Is that what they're considering a trail version ? :(

you can usually get em wet but can't have a load and can't expect much power coming out of something. I've gone through water up to my floorboards and above but then had to wait a bit on the side of my creek before I could have the power to make it up all the way.

just think of some sand paper grit on the sides of the clutchs that wouldmake them belts grab wether they was wet or not. and you could only put it so for down the side that way at idol speed it wouldn't be rubbing on the grit but if you gunned it and the belt really sunk down into the clutch it would grab on the gritty sides.i have been think if this for a while .

I now have a rear view mirror for my XUV. I didn't want side mirrors cuz would knock them off going thru the brush but have the rear shield. I bought a wireless backup security camera for $80 from Costco (They have them at Target and Wal Mart for $99) Installed the camera on the shield and the display on the dash. Runs off the cigarette lighter. Works great!

the camera would be nice but i don't think the mud would be to friendly on it. as for as the mirror i never had a problem with mine mounted on the side. my fenders stick out further than the mirror does.i tried a in the cab rearview mirror but ith the delux cab it just don't give me the view i need but i never tried sinsei put in my overhead console so that would have lowered it down some. post uo some pictures of your setup as soon as you get them .i'll would like to see them.

How many keys come with a XUV?

How much do extra keys cost to have made? Can they only be made at a JD dealer?

Is there anything that can be done to secure a Gator from theft?

Safest place is out of site if you live in a theft prone area.

Gator is like any utv/atv. They are easy to steal. If the crook can't start it, they will tote it off.

Chain it to a big tree thats lit at night with a huge dog or put it out of view.

I live in a very small town and crime isn't normally a problem. I feel safe from theft.
Avoid temptation and secure it well~!

BTW. The key is common and can be obtained easily....

every gator key is the same . i tried mine in a 6x6 and it worked fine i then tried it in a 2x4 and it worked there too so this is a really big problem is someone wants to take a gator all they have to do is go buy a replacement key.as for as disabling it i would pull the fuses.

Yeah JD has standard keys in all of their tractors. Even from 40 years ago. They have a different one for their gators but it's the same for all the gators.

Put your baby in a garage and kick the cars out! (hey I did...)
