However it is set, insert the side with the lowest pin first, then you can lift that side to the same height as the other one.
Telescoping lift arm ends help a LOT !
I sometimes dump the bucket so that the bottom is just about vertical, then give it enough down pressure to just lift the front wheels.
A bit of judicious curl/dump lines things up quite easily, best to hook up the left side first if you plan on doing this trick.
I must tell you not to do this, since you COULD run yourself over with the rear right tire.
In any case this involves leaving the tractor seat and leaving the engine running with the brakes not set, so it is at least a triple safety violation.
It may involve defeating a safety feature too, e.g. if you have a homeowner type of CPSC tractorette with a cut out switch in/under the seat.
Yeah, do NOT do this.
I have often thought about putting down markers when I unhook attachments.
Say a couple of short lengths of 2 by lumber with a couple of lengths of re-bar through them to act as spikes.
Place one behind the right rear tire as soon as you dismount to unhook, put the other one beside the same tire.
Drive the re-bar into the ground so they don't move too easily, for example if the dog decides to fetch them to you.
