I got a cut master 52 last summer. While I have not used it a lot, it has caused me no problems. I have cut things thicker than I expected. I just need to practice more as my hand is not as steady as I would like.
Lots to learn about jigs for strait and curved cuts.

There a decent machine. Are you looking at buying a new one or a used one? My first choice would probably be a Hypertherm but the TD Cutmaster 52 is one of the better plasma machines.

We have one in our office and we will do a comparison video with the ForceCut 62i that is coming shortly. We will also do an independent video review on the 52, which looks like a solid machine!

The Cutmaster 52 is a good machine, power supply built in the US, Torch in Mexico. From a cutting thickness, speed and power perspective it is very close to the Hypertherm Powermax45, the 45 beats it on consumable life...and is made (including torch) in the US.

I have a hypertherm 45, never regretted the purchase. Feel like a b day present every time I turn it on, going on I believe 6 maybe 7 years, with 0 problems.

As promised here is the video. We are going to do a part 2 video where we compare it to the ForceCut 62i and cut over 1 inch and see the benefits of each machine. Overall, the Cutmaster 52 was a very nice machine.

I own a 52 and use it all the time. I hand cut metal art and normal shop use. I have cut 1" plate down to 1/16" sheet metal and aluminum. Perform above my expectations.

" Made " in USA ? My 45 has internal parts from all over the world.. Is that the "new" made in USA?

I guess you could say that. Hypertherm designs, engineers and builds all of its products in their Lebanon and Hanover NH, USA facilities. All Hypertherm employees own 100% of the company. There are discrete components on the circuit boards (that we build) from all over the world. Every component meets the specs of our engineering team. Over 60% of our products are exported outside of the US, with many reversing the flow back to China. I call that Made in USA. If anyone is in NH and would like a tour of our state of the art, Leed Gold certified manufacturing operation, contact me and I'll be happy to oblige!
