Any "hidden" options or creature comforts I should consider with the B7610?

Is there a list of basic maint. items to have on hand?

I'm considering the FEL tooth bar 2 hooks, BH, MMM, 48" Bush Hog, and Woods 48" Box Scrapper/Rippers.

Thanks

TN_BOTA, Welcome to the club! The biggest thing that comes to mind to keep around the shop for your 7610 is at least a gallon of the UDT tractor oil for the drive system. I found out the hard way on a late Saturday afternoon when a hydro line on by backhoe came loose and sprayed oil EVERYWHERE! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I had to wait until Monday to get two gallons of oil one to replace what blew out and one for backup. If your handy in the shop I would also recommend that you make up some platforms with wheels on it to but your implements on so you can move them around easier. This makes lining things up to install much easier. Of course that is if you are storing everything on a concrete pad. Oh yeah, as a safety issue KEEP your seat belt on. I forgot this, this past Sunday and tipped my Kubota over onto it's side. I tumbled off and I remember seeing the tractor tipping toward me.(I said it and just about did it in my draws) The tractor just missed me. Happily we are both fine and we learned to respect each other a little more that day. Good luck. John, Kubota 7610, FEL, BH, RR, 60" MMM.

Get the toothbar. That is a must for having some real fun clearing the woods of brush and small saplings.

Buy yourself the workshop manual. They're a little on the cashy side( appr. $75), but if you ever have any minor repair to do it will pay for itself quickly. I developed a small oil leak at the center of front axle and the two local dealers both gave differing opinions of the fix followed with a "just bring it in and we'll fix it". Extra money just wasn't available at the time, so with the WSM, I tore into it, and 7hrs later and 1 $1.60 o-ring we were back in business. I'm sure the dealerships could have halved that time, but even so the labor rate would have far exceeded the cost of manual.

Frank, I tipped it over while backing up over an 18 inch deep by 12 inch wide ditch I had just dug with the backhoe. I was trying to clean it up a bit more when I felt the front right tire slip into the hole. I stopped right away and lowered my loader down to steady it. I pulled ahead all of a foot before the right rear tire fell in also, that's when I got thrown off the tractor and onto the ground thinking I'm going to get crushed and how am I to explain to St. Peter why I have a Kubota logo across my chest. Looking back I should have known that the ground was soft since I just tore into it digging the ditch and backing up over it was NOT a smart idea. I thought that the tractor was wide enough to straddel it, which it was, but the soft sides of the ditch could not handle the weight of the tractor. I had a farmer friend down the road come to my rescue with his Kabota "M" series tractor. We put the right side stabilizer down to semi straighten up the tractor with the backhoe boom to the left slightly extended for counter balance and we hooked a chain to the front frame and pulled it down the ditch to the end and up and out. No damage noticed to the tractor but we looked it over closely and checked all the bolts and nuts for reasurance. Everything was still lined up and without any dents. I got a pretty good lecture from my friend about tractor safety and some of his near misses he has had in his 60 plus years as a farmer. He claims that accidents seem to happen when you stop paying attention to what you are doing and not thinking ahead. Boy is he ever right. I hope this helps anyone out there who reads this, I know I will be alot more alert from now on. John

I think you forgot to mention that you now wear your seatbelt when you get on your tractor for even simple tasks. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bob, Your not kidding about that one! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif I hope this is the first and last incident I have with the tractor. Of course that does not include hitting the garage door with the loader while backing out, but that is another story /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Luvbug,

Thanks for sharing your experience!

You never know, but someone reading this thread just might learn from it the importance of wearing the seat belt at all times...and save themselves a lot of grief as the result.

Glad it turned out well for you...
