I've been in & out of the Kubota forum, so excuse this if it was discussed and I missed it (don't think so, though). Are there any leaks or new info or sneak peeks about the new L models yet? Local dealers say they will be out in October - I kinda figured TBN would start heating up with talk about it by now. All I've seen is one post on the general buy/price forum, with a couple replies echoing what I've heard.

Dealers sworn to secrecy?

Several weeks ago someone posted a "rumor" that Kubota would be introducing a BX1500 shortly. A short discussion followed in which various forum members challenged or endorsed Kubota's thought process. I advanced the notion that 1) the introduction of the new BX1500 would precede the elimination of the BX1800 and 2) the new BX1500 would be a 2WD machine.

Last weekend I spoke with a Kubota salesman and he confirmed that Kubota would be introducing the BX1500 shortly out in Salt Lake City (I think that's what he said). He told me (I can't be sure he knows what he's talking about) that the BX1500 would be 4WD and that there are no plans to discontinue the BX1800. I remain a bit skeptical, however, my opinion has very little substance to back it up.

Hope this helps.

Thanks - did the salesman discuss design changes, especially the rumored ergonomic redesign (ie, the Boomers)? I'd also be interested in hearing about L models. Can anyone confirm/deny/carry on with the gossip regarding design changes?

I remembered between posts that my Father said his dealer mentioned that all L models will have adjustable lower lift arms, like the higher horsepower models do now. There's one thing - any others?

A newly designed one piece, tilt open hood, similar to the M-Series.I don't think there will be any changes in the models, just a face lift. At least that's what I've been told....Carver Equipment will be the first place to post any photos of the new L-Series lineup.

Kubota held a meeting this weekend for all the dealers regarding the new models. Info will be coming in this week. My local dealer thought several of the new changes would be just as mentioned, all will have telescoping lower links. Most likely some will have a quick attaching "Bobcat" style loader arrangement. He mentioned also he thought they were working on going to external hydraulics for the 3 pt hitch, possibly putting the cylinder(s) externally. I suspect some plastic will replace steel as far as fenders, hood, etc. I would like to see a few changes, but I think for the most part, they are already very good and tough to beat. I still think nobody builds a better hydrostatic transmission then Kubota.

Yes, Kubota has broken the 50 hp hydrostatic transmission barrier! In answer to a question concerning plastic components, steel hoods and fenders are still the rule on the new 30 series tractors. They also have M-series tilt type hoods. Front end loader capacities have increased 50% and 3 pt. capacities have increased by 20%.

The new L series have..... cup holders !

The BX 1500 is a 2 cylinder diesel. No discontinuation of the other BX's. Will have all the attachments that the BX's have. 380 lb loader.

The new L series will be the "Brawn with Brains"... yes... you might hear that slogan again.

Did I mention the addition of cupholders?

Knucklehead,
Not sworn to secrecy, just kept in the dark! The cat is out of the bag now--the new L's are pretty awesome-same models plus 50HP model(HST and GST), all w/telescopic links and independent PTO, dual external cylinders(3-pt), ALL METAL, new hood (not boomer style which is a good thing IMHOO-that second O stands for Orange!). There is a bit more info on the New B's and L's thread. If you want to know anything in particular just ask--there is too much info for me to get it all on. Kubota's website should be updated by Oct. 1--they have a really nice new Brains and Brawn page.
Happy tractorin',
Christa

Just got back from a dealer and was reading the new literature that was handed out at the meeting. Unfortunately, the power is out in town and they were closing, so I only got to skim for 5 minutes. I got this: computerized electronic dash functions; new seat that reclines and has arms; more room on deck; significantly improved FEL lift power (esp on the 3010 and 3410 equivalents); two external cylinders on 3pt hitch giving about 20% more lift; mid-mowers on all models; two new backhoes (7.5 and 9 feet, stronger than JD's and Bradco 408); hoes apparently compatible with midmowers; optional bobcat-type attachment for bucket; cupholder; new, easier hood opening....... Will go back tomorrow and try to get copier copy of brochure.
