I was told by a dealer that the Kubota gr2100 had some known transmission problems. He said that the GR2110 is the new model with the known problems fixed. I was ready to buy a gr2100 with only 50 hours on it for $5900. But After he told me that I got old feet and may want to go with the GR2110. I am just having a hard time justifying the extra $2000. Any body have any ideas on what I should do this will be my first REAL tractor. I am retiring my craftsman. Thanks in advance

Cab,

The first GRs - "00" series - have the transaxle warranty extended to 4 years or 500 hours but only to the original owner / purchaser.

There is an update which basically brings the GR00 transaxle up to the current GR10 transaxle. It may have been done to the used unit - the dealer can tell you by looking it up if he did not do the work himself.

My free advice - buy the new unit and get full warranty coverage - let someone else have fun with the used unit - life is too short as it is for that kind of aggravation!

I have had a GR2100 since August of 05 and have had nothing BUT trouble with it. I recently had the overhaul on the tranny done.....I didn't get a chance to use it long enough to tell if it was any better before one of the Glide steer cables broke...boy will THAT do a number on your yard when you excuite a tight turn! The unit only has about 110 hours on it.... I am pretty disapointed with it over all. There are some on here who seem to love theirs, but I am not one of them. Good luck.

Sorry to change the subject, but have you guys who have the Kubota mowers had any trouble with it cutting uneven? I have just bought the 2010 ( gas version of the 2110 ). We've done ours and my mothers lawns once, and it cuts uneven from one side of the deck to the other. It also leaves streaks of uncut/halfcut grass. Neither lawn is perfect and both have uneven areas, but I have not had this problem before now, with a cheapo lawn tractor, or my 3 point hitch mower. Any suggestions on adjustments or tips would be appreciated. I know the manual says to adjust the wheels on the deck up off from the ground by 1/4"-1/2", but I am thinking of letting them ride on the ground to see if that helps. Does the mower deck just hang or will it float and ride on the wheels?
