I just purchased a new 2006 dk40 with creeper gears a couple of months ago. Bought it with the 1470 loader and kioti 6' brush hog. So far it has been great. Only have about 14hrs on it though. I did run into one small issue. There is a very small leak coming from the back transfer case on the axle. Just enough to see a couple of drops of fluid on the garage floor. Talk to my dealer who said to wait and see if it resolves with more use. My closest dealer is 2hrs away so it is kind of tough to get it in for service. I have been spreading pitrun rock, moving trees, mowing, digging posts, you name it and it works great. I read about every post on here I could find before I bought mine and couldn't find very many issues with them. The one thing I did find was a lot of people saying to just go with the dk35 over the 40. No way. Not after comparing the two side by side. 40 is bigger, more powerful, higher lift cap. with the bucket. Was going to get a 35 myself until I saw the 40 in action. Not to mention it was only an extra 1200 for the 40.
Hope this helps you with your decision. I don't think you can go wrong with the dk40.
