any idea what this trackhoe would be worth???

We have had this trackhoe for probably 4 or 5 years now and I am starting to think about maybe selling it. It is a Cat e70b but it is a grey market machine. I would estimate that it probably could dig a 16' or so deep hole with the boom and it has a 2' bucket on it. The bucket has some play in it but the rear of boom is fairly tight. I don't know the real history behind it but I have only put maybe 200 hours on it since we've owned it. I imagine that it has a new engine in it because it runs extremely well. I would estimate it to be either a late 80's model or possible an early 90's model machine. It has somewhere around 5800 hours on it. We bought it at an auction and had no idea that it was a grey market machine but it has been good for us other than an occasional hydrualic leak or something of that nature. I have a few more projects to do around the farm and I think I may be ready to sell it and either get a min excavator or just a backhoe attachment for the tractor. Any thoughts as to the value of this machine would be great.

A local dealer in my area has the same Cat E70B for about 18K. I have no idea of how many hours are on it but the pics on his site look pretty good.

The cheapest one I saw was $17,950 and it's not a grey market machine. I also think it's a newer machine than yours.

we paid $12k for it 5 years ago. I guess that if I could get $10k for it then I'ld probably be doing ok then? I had no idea it was a grey market machine until we started trying to buy some filters for it to get it serviced. We were a little misled by the auctioneer on that one. Thanks for the links. I'll do some looking around.

If yours runs decent you should have no problem getting 10K for it. Used mini excavators are bringing that price from the sites I looked at. In a few years I'm going to seriously start going to some local auctions looking for a mini excavator. Hopefully retire from working for someone else and start my own mini business to supplement the retirement. I've been doing side jobs for years now so the transition to full time working for myself shouldn't be too hard.
