Any Amsoil experts?

Please contact me. Need info on using a single oil for all my vehicles, car 5-30, truck 5-20, motorcycle 10-40, kubota diesel 10-30 or 15-40. Will Amsoil 10-40 premium protection, black cap bottles, work in all my vehicles? Says compatible for all gas, diesel, and motorcycles. But will the 10-40 work for all my vehicles? Thanks hjt

Not an Amsoil expert by any stretch of the imagination...My personal preference has been Delo...This subject is one of those that will either refer you to previous posts and/or lots of different opinions.......Good luck.

I run Shell Rotella Synthetic 5W-40 in my Chev 2500 HD diesel, Kubota BX 24, BMW R1150 RT, Yamaha FJR1300, JD 265, Honda 50 and 15 HP outboards, Chev Suburban, Ariens snowblower, Honda Rubicon 500 ATV, Honda 6500 Generator, and Craftsman 22" lawnmower. Never had a problem and never will.

Now go pleasure the Mrs. and forget about this issue for the rest of your life.

P.S. You may want to keep a small jar under the bed like I do.

it appears that the 10w40 (AMO) you looked at has an older gas rating (SL), and has a diesel rating of CF / CI-4+. If you have a new car or a 2007 or later truck it wont meet those mfg specs..

The amsoil 5w40 (DEO) and 14w40 (DME) do meet the newest car spec (SM) and the the 2007 or new diesel rating (CJ) -

So to answer your question - it really depends on what your mfg specs the car and truck calls for..

IF you decide to go with amsoil I would not buy from a dealer unless you need it VERY quickly.. You can pay $10/6 mths for a 'preferred' membership and you can buy everything at wholesale (plus tax). your money also gets you catalogs, a magazine and other propaganda err, I mean reading material. LOL

Amsoil ships very quickly, my first order was delivered within 3 days of ordering.. IF you happen to live near a distribution facility you can also order it online and pick it up there free.

If you go to amsoil.com you can see the retail pricing, but by adding a membership to your basket it will show you the wholesale pricing.

Note: If you're newly married, don't use synthetic lubricant for the first few hours, it will prevent proper wear in.

Not true you are assigned a dealer when you become a preferred customer but thats where it ends. I've never talked to my dealer in 4 plus years.

Not true, you do not NEED a ZO# when you sign up. The Zo# are used for that dealer to get $$$ when you buy product.

Other than that, oil is oil.

Magic additive free is probably "greener" and will in any case suffice to lube engines WAY beyond the useful life of the rest of the ...whatever the engines drive.

Like; would you WANT to still be driving a '73 Torino ?
Did they go to the junk yard because of excessive main bearing wear, or camshaft lube failures ?

What I still love (joking) is a PC does not get the same prices as some dealer. You have PC, dealers and then comm sales (dealers). They get the best deal but you have to buy in cases.

Go post "thatguy".. These are some of the reason why I cannot stand dealers..
