I see a lot of 2015's that have a BH but haven't seen any 2615's with one. I was not impressed with the 3710. Is anyone using any other beefier BH with subframe on there 2615?

We run the Woods 7500 groundbreaker and it has the subframe.

George, I believe if you compare the weight of the machine and the specs you will find the 3710 compares well with other 7.5' backhoes. The 3710 weighs about 1150 lbs with the bucket, and has 1100 lbs force on the bucket cylinder and 2900 lbs on the dipper cylinder. Also as Rick from Wallace Tractor said the Woods 7500 is also comparable and I don't think he is that far from you. Good luck!

I have a few more questions maybe you gents could answer to ease my mind.

1) How does the Woods 7500 compare in price to the 3710?
2) Also I noticed my local dealer only had the 3710 BH.
Would a Woods BH void my warranty? I still have 2 1/2 yrs to go and wouldn't want to void it.
3) Is it up to the individual dealers discretion whether to cover a warranty. The warranty wording is somewhat specific regarding a mahindra approved implements and accessories but does not state what brands are approved.
4) I'd hate to buy a BH that my local dealer doesn't sell and by some strange occurence of Murphy's law need to submit a warranty claim for the tractor and have the local dealer deny my claim because of the BH.
5) Does Mahindra have a list of approved implement manufacturers such as BH, FEL, MMM, Etc.? I know the ML106 loader is made by KMW of Kansas
6) Should I just wait till the warr. is up before buying something other than a 3710?

Thanks, George

George,
What you should know is that befor Mahindra had the 2015 it was a Cub Cadet and Cub Cadet used the Woods loader and backhoe as their OEM.
Mahindra also looked at using Woods for their OEM but they could not come to terms.
Now any time you put a aftermarket loader or backhoe on a tractor the manufacture of the attachment does do their research and they do stand behind their product and you can bet that if someones loader or backhoe broke a tractor they would step up to the plate.
Now as a dealer with the warranty it would come down to the dealer and how that phone called was made and who was called first. I will stand behind anything I do as a dealer.
As far as a approved attachment I don't think you will have any large or small tractor co. stating that someone elses product is approve for use with their tractor.
If the tractor company can not make a $$ on it why would the say use it.
In all of my pricing I can buy a wood cheaper than a Mahindra.
We can not tell you what to do (buy now or wait) I think that who ever you decide to get your backhoe from make sure they are aware of your concerns.

Technically, a non-Mahindra FEL or backhoe voids the warranty as stated on the back side of your warranty registration. There are laws that apply and I expect some reasoning would have to be applied if push came to shove, but the exclusion is clear.

A good dealer will do what he can to take care of his customer. Now if you buy from some guy two states over to save sales tax and maybe a couple hundred bucks and you bring your Woods equipped 2615 in to your local dealer with a cracked bellhousing, you don't have a prayer.

I've sold several dozen 3710 backhoes on the 2615 and 3015. I have 25 in stock, so I can say we have some experience here. It is a great hoe that will dig a 2' flat bottom at 7'10" depth and has a reach of over 10'. It mounts solidly on a quick attach subframe and has great digging power. It is hefty at about 1100 lbs. Now I know the Woods unit is a very good one as well, but I'd recommend going with the factory unit (KMW).

Rickie, Galen, and Dave, I truly thank you for your input to my questions. It's great to have some dealers willing to spend time on the net answering our queries. I have a few months of snow to deal with so next spring I'll take a closer look at the 3710 and make my decision.
Thanks again,
George

From a user's seat point of view, the 3710 on my 2615 HST has been one heck of a good BH. Dug a septic system drainfield with it the day after delivery, nice 5' deep straight long runs were no problem. Have pulled lots of stumps & rocks, too. Can't think of anything to complain about, it has excellent strength and seems like an ideal match for the tractor. Also, it is very easy & quick to dismount/mount. That has helped increase the usefulness of both considerably. On my loader & BH, the KMW fit, finish & workmanship is excellent; all welds are just beautiful, very strong. Even love the powdercoat finish, it really is tough.

While shopping I did see some pretty weak hoes out there - certainly would have been very disappointed with any of them. Honestly haven't seen the Woods BH, so don't know why or how much the $ difference might be. But if it isn't huge, I'd recommend the 3710. The other Woods units I do have don't appear as well made as KMW, IMHO. Quality & longtime satisfaction are always worth a little extra $.

Now if Santa could get a bigger bucket for it under the tree, I'd be even happier...

Thanks for replying with your assessment of the 3710. You are the first person I've heard of who owns one on a 2615. I have to replace my leach field next summer and have a few other BH jobs lining up. Do you have any pics of it installed on your machine? What bucket do you have and what size would you recommend? The one I saw on the 3710 at my dealers looked awful small. I'd prefer at least 15"-16".
Thanks again for the comments.

George, 16" is basically the standard bucket for a 3710, but they are available in 10, 12, 16 and 20 inch.
