Welded this up with the stick function on my Lincoln 210 MP. Liked the land plane idea, just added a hydraulic gate to carry or distribute material as required. Six ft wide, six ft long. Ft blade is serrated, rear is straight cut, set at a 10 degree angle. Run them 1/2 inch below the side rails. Side rails are made from 12 inch I beam. Gotta love the plasma cutter, had to cut the flange off the bottom inside of the rails.

Yes, very nice!:thumbsup: 12in I beam... WOW! Doesn't look that big. I have a landscape rake and a back blade that I shortened down from 72in to 63in. Neither does what I really want them to do. I do love my plasma cutter too!

Thanks for the positive replies. The 12 inch dimension got me thinking, yup, only 10 inches. Have the old guy CRS syndrome. Can't remember s!!t

I’d like to see a video of it in operation, particularly the rear blade moving material.

curious, why did you put cutting blades at 10degree angles? , why not put them in opposing directions? Why not leave them straight?

why did you need to cut the inner ledge off the ibeam?

kind of looks like a box blade setup? how would this work different than a box blade?

When I was researching land planes, I came across the ABI videos on the Tube. The descriptions given of slicing rather than just trying to push the blades through material made a lot of sense. Cutting the bottom inside flange would create less drag on the skids, more grunt available for cutting. It is similar to a box blade, but far more versitle. With the hydraulic gate I can leave it open to let all the material flow through, drop the gate to carry material or open the gate just as much as needed to distribute material without lifting the whole implement. The cutting action is not disrurbed. I'm surprised that none of the commercial manufactured land planes have that option.
