it can get rather exciting real fast! i would assume, i have been in worse situations, with the 555c TLB (tractor loader backhoe) and rear end sliding down a small hill that i was trying to build up. to get around a lake.
sliding down to a point i went completely sideways, was freaky enough, but then using the backhoe to pick the rear end of the tractor up even further. and slowly twisting tractor back up on good ground was even worse.
but once i got past that, i ended up getting stuck a few to many more times. that required the use of the backhoe. to pick up rear end of tractor and move it over. granted rear end was not as high off ground. but still just as un-steady as ever. to quick of movement and backhoe bucket in wrong spot = tractor on its side. that or backhoe sliding while moving = tipped tractor.

personally hate mowing some hills.
allis chalmers CA, narrow front wheels (field tractor other words, makes you think of a 3 wheeler)
on one spillway on one of the lakes. there is a sharp drop off at the dam. only way to mow this section. is doing about 20 circles. i drive down this area though. no way i can back up it or drive up it forward. i would end up rolling tractor.
on other hills, they are 2 short from top to bottom to drive straight up and down them. so i end up driving at a angle on them. never straight across them. going at an angle. allows me to take longer paths along the hill. and gives me to turn, to turn out of a possible roll over.
on other hills. long steep hills. always lowest gear and dry grass. and mow straight up and down them going forward. if grass is tall enough. it may require just mowing down. (tractor not enough HP to go up and mow at same time)
in a couple places, the hills are just way to steep. and i will back up on them some. mainly road side ditch in one portion of yard. i will let the county double deck bush hogs mow it. even if they do put some tracts and dents in the yard.
old uncles house. (yikes) now that is a hill. only way to mow it is get on top. pucker down. and tip toe to edge. and once at edge, just hold on. to steep for push mower, or i should say very dangerous for a push mower, and weadeater would be harmful. and you just ride out the speed till ya slowed down. if you tried backing up on the hill you would spin tires 1/4th way up it. chains, would only tear more things up.

every spring, i will normally be a big chicken, and only mow the less steep hills. then after some seat time and a couple mowings, i will slowly work my way on the steeper hills.
