Mowing Another satisfying BX Lawn Mowing Experience

Well I dropped the BH and FEL and put the mower deck on this weekend, only took me less than 30 minutes total and that BX23 is a mowing machine. Mowed the yard (1-1/2 acres) in record time and even in the real tall and thick spots in the field that thing acted like it was driving on asphalt. Very nice even cut.

Just overall very satisfied with the machine all together now.

I was a little tiny bit conserned about the quality of the cut from what others have said but I think it cut great.

I've got 3 mowings inder the BX23's belt now and I am very happy with the results. Especially considering 1/3 of it is still thick wet grass w/ some mud thrown in.

Lets see, 3 mowings @ 2.5 acres per mow = 7.5 acres cut and I've only used approx 1/2 tank of fuel. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So far I've only 2 negatives and both are directly related to mowing wet grass. One is I've got some mud streaks in the very bottom land (got them w/a std lawn tractor w/turfs) and two I've got to take my home made mulch plug off in the thick wet stuff because of the thick ridge of clippings it leaves, removing the plug & spraying them out disburse's them much better.

Conversely, the mulch plug does pretty good in the dry grass.

Just knocked off the back 1.5 this evening, /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and yeah, it done good, REAL good /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've done a little grass cutting, front yard mostly. My problem is, all of my grass hasn't started growing yet. Also, I'm finding that the yard has all of a sudden become too small. The 60" MMM really reduces the cutting time dramatically. What used to take 60-80 minutes with a pushmower and 30-40 minutes with a riding mower now takes 10-15. Its to the point where I started cutting my neighbors' yards (because I couldn't get enough seat time /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif ).

After about a total of 60 minutes of mowing time, I'm totally amazed at this deck. It just sits there with a low hum and totally wipes out the tall grass. The finish has been very good. The operation is very smooth with absolutely no vibration.
