Found myself actually quite sentimental today when I saw the two old tractors up on the truck and ready to head out. And to add mud in their face, we used the new loader tractor to load up the plow and snow blower behind them as well.

Found my self wondering if this was normal to feel this way - seemed kind of silly actually, they are just pieces of equipment, but I had put a lot of hours on both of them over the years. I was a teen when we had bought the cab tractor and drove it home from the dealer with that same plow that was loaded on. Just didn't make sense (or dollars) to keep them anymore - maintenance and parts. Both had done a good job with minimal problems till the last couple of years...(big sigh)

Anyone else ever feel this way or is it just me? Thanks for letting me relate and here are the pics.

Felt that way many times over the years. Best part is it does pass when you have a new one to replace it.:licking::thumbsup:

I had seven old tractors in a collection. All needing one thing or another. Seemed like every time I needed to use them it required some kind of repair (bad gas from sitting, dead batterys and on and on) Just to expensive to keep them all fit. One by one I run them out to end of the driveway and sold six of them in one month. It was very sad to watch them go one by one. I traded the seventh one in on a new L3130 and had it delivered while I was at work so I did not have to watch my Massey 50 go. I understand how you feel.

I sure know what you mean and actually have a tractor or two I no longer need or use. I "loaned" one to my brother who uses it and another mostly just sits around.

I sold one to my daughter and son in law and every time I visit, I have to check to make sure it is being properly cared for.

Heck, I have a Harley Davidson in my garage that I have been unable to ride for a couple of years and it will probably still be there the day I die.

No regrets on that deal. Her and I just didn't make a good pair. Kind of reminded me of one of my old girl friends before I got married. Most things were OK but there were just some things that we couldn't work out. Both of us are now happily married - to other people of course.

With regards to the other postings - thanks guys!

Aside from what has already been the stated differences is there something more specific you can put your finger on. Sorry for being such a pest on this but I do like my 3200, ie. power, size etc. and I can live quite nicely without the 3pt arms. I do understand your old girl friend analogy. I am looking for something I can put my finger on. Not having a 3030 available to try for a day it is hard to see the differences. One thing that swayed me to the 3200 was the loader control. Even with the remote cabbed control I liked the 3200 better but that is just one item.:confused2::)

yep, felt that way many times....cars, trucks, ATVs, lawn tractors, etc.....especially for the ones that were problem free and really served me well. I do, however, prefer to sell or trade older stuff while its still running good and can serve someone else who may be less fortunate and cannot afford the new item I just replaced it (whatever it may be) with. :)

I think that new machine you have there will soon prove itself better in many ways than the older machines that you traded.

My current girlfriend has made me much more aware that ultimately its all just "stuff" that is really not all that important.....I'd love to have a warehouse full of all my old toys, but I could never find the time to use them all, and definitely could not keep them all running, batteries charged, oil changed, etc.

Yep know how you feel. I just sold my L245DT to my neighbor. Love the new L2800HST. It is a double edge sword for me. I see my old tractor sitting in his yard after I owned it for 20 years. Used and abused it, smoked, had blow by, but it always started and did whatever I asked of it. I hope it lasts him another 20 years, but if it don't he will probably be mad at me for life.

Last summer I replaced my 1960 Massey 35 I had had for 12 years by a JD 3520. I felt it was terribly sad, even a betrayal after so many years working together. I still haven't found the same team feeling with my new companion.
So I quite understand how you are feeling...
