Here it is – a new TC55DA. I was powerless against resisting the pre-season finance and rebate deal on the TC55. I was originally looking at 45HP, or so, machines. But as has been written in these forums numerous times, too much horsepower may be just enough. But the finance deal on the TC55 helped resolve both the HP decision as well as the color choice decision.
I looked hard at the Deere 4x20 Series as well as the Massey 1500 series. They were all similarly priced and I have decent dealers for all three nearby. I’m not a hydro fan. I liked the power-reverser/power shuttle/EHSS type gear transmissions (was not as impressed with the orange GST though so I eliminated them early on). While it’s way too early to write a review on this machine, my initial impression after getting it delivered and playing, err, working it a bit is quite positive. My local New Holland dealer is a nice multi-generation family business and they both farm and sell tractors and power toys.
I will be using this fine machine for logging as I have a woodlot and a hungry outdoor wood boiler. I may end up needing some decent double-diamond chains, but I’ll give it a go without 1st as they are way expensive.
In addition to the bucket and forks I bought an 8’ snow blade with hydraulic angle as well as a 3PH-mount wood splitter. Pictured you will see the Farmi JL501 winch as well.
I had the dealer add three hooks to the bucket, load the R4 tires and weld on valve stem protection (nice for woods use). The 3rd SCV has the detent type control so I can run the splitter w/o using a bungee. I’ll also use the 3rd SCV for the snow plow angle.
While I am a relatively new TBN member, I realize that it is dang near mandatory to post pretty pictures, so I have done so here for your viewing pleasure.
I will continue to ignore the CNH Capital warning thread as I have more months to be their friend than most sane folks would care to know
I guess I'll have to modify my profile now...
