I was planning to buy a 3130HST with a LA723 front end loader. A dealer told me that the 3130 would not handle this loader and that he would not sell this tractor with this loader. He said that he sold one and the owner was dissatisfied and traded it in on a larger tractor. He would only price this loader on a 3830. Has anyone else had any bad experiences with the 3130 and the 723 loader?

I wonder why he takes that position? The LA723 is one of the two loaders recommended for that tractor by Kubota and I have read several posts by owners of that combination that seemed very satisfied.

I'm here to tell you that that dealer is an idiot and I wouldn't buy from him. The primary reason to buy an L3130 over something like an L3400 is the LA723 loader. I have the LA723 with an L3130HST-F and am very happy with 130 hours on the clock. The extra horsepower of the L3830 would do very little in enhancing loader performance.

The dealer stated that Kubota listed the 723 loader for the 3130 and also that there would be no problem in lift capacity but he says that the tractor is too small to handle the loads. He said that the 3830 is bigger, longer and wider, and more capable of handling the loads. He said that I would not be happy with the 3130 and wouldn't even price one with the 723 loader. This has caused me to reevaluate buying a 3130. I intend to lift round hay bales with this tractor.

By the way this is the same dealer that had the low price on the 4400 which is talked about in a previous post. I drove several hundred miles to talk with him. He was courteous and easy to talk to. His price for the 3830 was a couple of hundred dollars lower than my local dealer.

When I bought my 3130 new from a dealer and said I wanted the 723 Loader he said "Good Choice." The tractor is warrantied with it so I don't see what the problem is with your dealer.........

That dealer may have his reasons, he may actually believe them, but I can say, from a former 3130w/723 owners point of view. Thats an excellent loader/tractor combo. These dealers get maybe one complaint in every 100 tractors they sell and that sticks in their head as a problem.
When I was BH shopping for my 3130, my dealer recommended the BL4690 BH over the BH90 for the same reasons your dealer recommened the smaller loader. He said the 3130 wasnt enough tractor to handle it. I took his recommendation and regretted it.

I have 70 hrs on a L3130 HST with Kubota 723 loader with quick attach bucket. I also bought the Bradco fork attacment. I have loaded R4 tires on the rear. I have used the loader with out any counter weight (very carefully). The loader is heavy duty for sure. You certainly wouldn't want a smaller tractor. It has worked fine for me and was dealer recommened.

The L3830 and the L3130 use the same frame and hyd pumps,
according to the Kubota literature. The only noticable differences
are 327ccs more engine dispacement and one size larger front and
rear AG tires standard. The only reason a knowledgable Kub dealer
would say you need a 3830 instead of the 3130 is maybe he has one
in stock? Or he would have to order or remount a loader? Just
guessing. There would be no performance differences with the
bigger loader, as the flow rates and weights are the same.
