I have JD ltr180 did not have time to repair trans (lost power) So I gave it to a shop to rebuild :ashamed:. a year later gave it back to me in a basket!
After reading through posts on K46 and parts diagrams missing a lot of misc parts and rusted bearings
... I sanded the center housing, I purchased a small hone and used on pump and motor. Finally got it all together and installed but since the trans sits backwards axels in front of pump, the pedals were backwards. R&R trans again reversed the motor wedge. tractor runs OK but not as strong as I had wished
. I was going to get a k57 upgraded center housing and wanted to install the charge pump (k57). on reviewing and figuring out parts needed to upgrade, I notice a spring that sits under pump part # 1A646025200. I do not recall installing this spring (missing in basket case?) since I had to replace both thrust bearings (pump and motor) I think I would have remembered that spring
.
what would happen w/o this spring? since it pushes pump into the housing, maybe cause a loss of power due to not enough pressure of pump against center housing?
