I had a fitting that I could not get to take grease. This was at the end of the hydraulic cylinder tube for the loader. New machine also. The ends of the pin were clean and there was no evidence of grease on the pin.
I took the pin out and sure enough, clean as can be. Checked the hole of the grease fitting from inside the pin sleeve. What I found was the plastic insert that I guess is supposed the protect the inner zerk threads before installation was never removed. I plucked it out and all was good. So if all other little tips and tricks don't work, you might just have a plastic plug in the zerk threads.
