I was given an old Jaobsen lawn tractor the other day. It's got a 14 hp Kohler single cylinder. The tractor was partially tore down to be scrapped! I saved it. The thing runs like a champ. I had a 5 gal. bucket of parts and all the tinwork, no mowing deck. Rear tires are like new. So, I though, looks like the perfect candidate for the new forklift. It has a twin tube main frame , cast iron front (rear now) axle and the best part it's got a hydro trans! SCORE. Owner told me it ran and drove fine, just the deck took a dump along with the lift cylinder. He doubted if I would ever get it running. I thought for little to no investment that it was the perfect unit to turn into a forklift. I moved the steering box to the rear, moved the seat back to the motor and re configured the peddles to be more user friendly for my big feet. I wanted to use the rear fender tinwork. I am having a slight issue with the carb, it leaks while not running so I have to shut the fuel off at the tank, when running it doesn't leak, I cleaned the carb and installed a new bowl and bowl gasket, I think it's going to need a new needle and seat. Enough rambling, here are some pics.
