Another custom cab

Please see below pictures of a cab I built over the winter for my JD 790. I have enjoyed this site for a couple of years now and got alot of good ideas for the cab and other projects. I built this from straight grained Fir using epoxy for all joints. Also all joints are half lapped and taped for strength. I was able to find some 3/16 plexi for all the window areas. These are all secured with 3M window-weld. I still need a handle and some attatchment points for the tractor but I now am not dreading next winter plowing.

Neat idea. Wood is so easy to work with involving contours and corners. If it can be sealed properly it would last for many years. It doesn't have the echo effect or sound transfer of steel either.

That is some really nice work. Want to make one for my 3005? I mean, surely you must be bored now that yours is done, right?

Seriously, that looks good enough that you could sell the plans to people.

Hey Guys , thanks for all the nice words. Ill try to get some pictures with it on the tractor. Maybe a while though as things are starting to warm up here in Michigan and Im itching to get some seat time. Thanks again........John

Excellent work!! Resembles a JD Sound Guard Cab!!

We are working on one too. I will post pics once completed.

that does look nice
only used my unit once during cold weather this year and all I have to say
One day or shall I say 2 hours in the cold the $$ for the cab was worth it
