Someone asked the other day about an analog tach for their tractor. I saw one the other day at the dealer that someone had put on their B7100. I have a B7100 without a tach, but none of my other old tractors (a '50 A-C Model B and a '50 Cub) have a tach either, so I don't really miss one, but this one was kind of neat.
The dealer said that the owner of the B7100 also had a B20. He noticed the similarity between the two. When he sold his B20, he took the tach out of the B20, welded up a new fuel tank for the B7100 that was low enough for the cable to go through the firewall and pass over the fuel tank, and hooked up the tach where the hour meter is on the B7100.
Looks factory to me. Couldn't see it work because the injectors were off the B7100, but if it works, it is a good looking set up.
Owner had also mounted a temp gauge and voltmeter in the little console over the HST hump where the metal plate is screwed with instructions for the speed control lever. Looked neat too.
