I mowed over a fiberglass-handled shovel the other day - chopped it to shreds. It was laying in the tall grass in such a way that I didn't see it. It was just a regular whump sound like I had hit a pile of dirt. It sprayed bits of fiberglass for about 20 feet! What saved the deck/blade/spindles was that it didn't pick up the head of the shovel. The head was still sitting there in 4" of grass without a nick on it.
I'm almost to 200 hours, or 165 hours on it since I purchased it last November. We'll have 250-300 hours by the end of the mowing and gardening season.
