Tractor
Kubota L2650/Ford 3930
Guys be honest with me, I'm trying to sell my L2650GST 4wd, R1 tires, 600 hrs, 1993 model. It's in good shape, always kept in the barn, starts right up no problems with it at all.

I'm asking $8500 for it and can't sell the thing. I know something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it, but come on. I looked in my tractor bluebook and it says it's worth over $9000 and it doesn't even add anything for low hours.

Am I asking too much? Don't feel like I am, but I've been trying to sell it for a while now.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Does it have a loader? Even without a loader, that is a price that would folks out here would snap up quickly if it is in good shape. We are also just getting into our weed season here so the interest in tractors is high. I sold mine 2 weeks ago very easily on Craigs list.

No loader, hasn't been snatched up yet, maybe I need to list it in California!

You don't say how you are trying to sell it. No loader is a huge
problem, but you may not be getting enough exposure.

Try Ebay....it has worked well for me as a seller.

You may have better luck as spring approaches.

How are you advertising?

I am going to sell a L185DT with bushhog and scrape blade, priced around $5200. Will use several free publications and may try the local paper.

Tractor is sitting in a high traffic area with a sign on it. I've recieved many calls, but not sold yet. Everybody wants me to just give it to them.

I also just put it back in the paper starting yesterday, it hasn't generated many calls in the past though. I had it on this website's classifieds and got a few emails, but again not sold yet.

The worst was when I had a local heart doctor come and look at it, we agreed on a price but he wanted me to take it to the local Kubota dealer for a check. He paid to have it checked out and all things were great until he found out it was a '93. He wanted something like a '96 or newer. I was frustrated to say the least. At the time I wasn't sure of the year, now I know. But still 600 hours. Anyway.

My luck selling things is not great. I'm going to be moving this spring and I'm selling my life away. I'm getting rid of two tractors, hay baler, rake, sickle mower, finish mower, carry-all, boom pole.....the who 9 yards. It's killing me. I hate moving.

Welcome to my world! If I could sell 4WD diesel loader tractors for $1500 I could please about twice as many people.

Really though, I think your asking price is high for a bare tractor. $8500-9000 is possbile with a loader, but it will be tough without.

Sitting on the opposite side of the fence as a buyer.
I looked at a similiar tractor I believe it was a L2600 with turf tires and 160 hours, an 04 model, looked like new. Price $8000.00
I thought GREAT.
I than called a Kubota dealer and found I could get a brand new 2006 L2800F for $9500.00 with rebate $8900.00.
$400.00 difference.
Well I spent a bit more and have a 2007 L3400 sitting in the barn.
For me when I see over $8000 I think NEW for a little more.
Good Luck

I now have to sell my old tractor, so I will be on your side of the fence
next week.

Am I asking too much?

I'd have to agree with MessickFarm; a 14 year old tractor with no front end loader? That's extremely low hours, but unfortunately for you, I just think your asking price is way too high.

Guy here was selling a JD. Buddy of mine had the same tractor and convinced the guy to just sell him just the loader. New JD loaders are EXPENSIVE!!!!! (like that is news!)

Now it's been sitting there for 3 months with a plow on it, no takers. For most people a tractor is not a tractor unless it has a loader. You'll probably lose about 95% interest in it when potential buyers find out you don't have one on it. Nature of the beast. Keep trying, spring is near and interest should be firing up soon.
