Alternative filters for YT series tractors?

Have any of you guys figured out what alternative oil and fuel filters (if any) are out there for YT 200 or 300 series tractors? I really don't like to have to buy the Yanmar OEM filters as they are a bit on the expensive side for my blood...TIA

Hey mate, I get my filters from the Perth supplier of Baldwin filters (USA Co). They matched the filters for my EF352 in minutes.

Under half the price. We use Baldwin on all our work trucks and drill rigs and I have never had a problem.

Wix filters are my choice but ended up using OEM for convenience and cost, your correct that they are not the cheapest but they are the correct fitment and are of good quality.

I suppose saving $10.00 is appealing but since the rig cost 40K, spending an extra few bucks wasn’t going to throw my retirement into shambles...

Buy the kit.... put the correct parts on and enjoy your tractor or whatever turns your crank

A filter thread seems to pop up a couple of times a year. It always divides into two groups, one wanting a substitute brand and the other insisting on OEM. Yanmar is a tractor company. They do not make filters. That is contracted out to other companies. The substitute brand that you use may actually be the same as the one the tractor company uses. A little research usually gets that information. Brands like Wix and Baldwin are good filters and will be made to the OEM specifications if you purchase the correct one. In the States, makers cannot void a warranty if you use the correct filters/oil/etc. and use the recommended schedules. They may not like it because they don't get the sale but that is life.

Got some of them to cross over to Baldwin and or Wix but not all of them. Some are just not found in the databases.

Last resort I take the unknown filter off and down to the local filters guy.
Veneer, tape and thread gauge and I have a match every time.
