Allic Chalmers 1947 Model B

I am trying to determine if the timing mark on this particular tractor is on the flywheel, but viewed through a 1" hole on the left side of the bell housing? The tractor manual I have only mentions a hole at the bottom of the bell housing. There is a hole there but all you can see is the back of the clutch.
Any thoughts on this ?

If the marks are hard to see, possibly brush it off the best you can, and use a paint pen to mark them, making them more visible.
