Air suspension seat for 4000 series cab?

Guys,

I am dumping my new NH 3040 w/250TL FEL for a 4520 CAB w/400CX FEL (QA and HD Bucket). The deal is almost complete. I was just wondering about the air suspension seat. Is that really worth $658.00 or is the standard seat pretty good. My property can be bumpy, but not super bumpy. Thanks for your time.

I would see if your dealer has a couple different tractors with and without the seat. For me, it was a no brainer. The air seat makes the ride so much smoother.

I am a larger guy and the air seat is so much better for me than the standard seat. I would recommend it. My 3320 has the standard seat and the 4720 cab has air seat.

I'd get the air seat. it is one of the best features on my JD 4720. you get hight (which helps with viewing) just right, ride comfort base on your weight just right. it will also allow the correct leg height as it can be easily set up or down. you'll probably have the tractor a long time - you know if you don't get it you'll regret it

Air seat - just DO IT! If you ever sell it... the next buyer will ask you if it has the air seat.

That darn seat is expensive. Best I could is do $650.00 with the install. :mur::mur: Have any of you ever had the air pump burn out or had problems with it? If I am going to sink that much money into it, I want to make sure it will last a very long time (like 10 to 20 years long...)

Get the air seat. I have it on a couple of tractors and wouldn't want to be without it with my bad back and old aching bones. You'll never regret having it.

Ok, I am convinced. I told the dealer to go ahead and install it. I have to be careful with my back also especially with too much jarring. Thanks for all the help!

Last question... Has anyone ever had to replaced their air pump or had issues with their seat? I am hoping the seat will last a considerable long time.

I asked the same basic questions. The seat does not generally have significant pump problems or premature failure. There are many older Deere ag machines with air seats that have (and continue) to work for many years.
