JD 850 & 4310
The suspension on my JD 4310 seat broke so I have found myself in the position of having to buy a new one. So I got to wondering if doing an upgrade would be worth it or not. Mostly I use the tractor for mowing 5 acres around the house that used to be a pasture so it has some bumps.

The seat suspension that I am looking at is on John Deeres website (part# LVB25688). I'm not completely sure that it will even fit onto my tractor but I thought that I would come on here and ask if anyone has any experience with both types of seat suspensions and had an opinion on the subject.

I'm going to check with the dealer before I order. I also tried to insert a link to the seat on the Deere website. We shall see if that worked.

I have used both spring seats and air ride seat and will say there is a big difference between the two and if you can get an air ride seat then definitely go for it.

I'm not sure how I got that smiley face with sunglasses to pop up in my first post. Just noticed that.

There are aftermarket seats for J. Deere bigger tractors that are either oem or same as oem for less money.

I put the air ride suspension seat on my 3720 when I bought it 3 years ago. I like it.

I still have the original suspension that is like new. I don't know if it would fit your 4310 but if you have some interest let me know.

I stupidly spec'd the standard suspension when I have my 3720 built as well. Too much bouncing, and the weight adjust knob didn't seem to make a **** bit of differrence. I quickly went back to the dealer to have it replaced by the air suspension. So I too have an OE scissors type spring suspension and seat tilt platform gathering dust. But the price cited above is not the same as I experienced. What I've found is that the OE spring/tilt platform is about $450, and retrofitting it with air is about $1200. These numbers are suspension only, original seat is still used.

It looks like I am going to need to have a conversation with the parts guy at the dealership to find out what seat suspensions will work with my tractor. I remember being on one of the sites, I think it was Deere's web page, and looking up the air ride and it didn't list a 4310 as an option for it. It listed the 3320 which is similar to my tractor but newer so I'm wondering if they didn't start making this air ride suspension until the 3320 came out and did not put older tractors on there.

I looked up the prices on the susupensions from here John Deere Parts Online at Discount Prices from Green Farm Parts but I don't know if there is more to it or not. I'm assuming that I can wire it up myself.

I have looked on the web at aftermarket seat suspensions also but the sites that I have seen did not look like the prices were too far off of the Deere prices and I couldn't tell if they would fit my tractor or not.

@Greg g- is the LVB25688 the seat suspension that you have with your tractor now?

Thanks
