I was looking on NAPA's web site and found that they offer two different air filters. Outer and an optional inner. I only have one filter, any body know what this is about?

I don't know what kind of tractor you have but take another look at it.
When I looked up my air filter it said the same, two filters inter and outer.
I took the end cover off and pulled the filter out but, nearly did not see the smaller filter that mounts inside the larger filter. The inter filter has its own seat and
sets back from the opening. When you reach in and pull, it will also come right out. Yours may not be like this but I bet it is.

Most of the Kioti tractors don't use the inner filter. The Bobcats, which are primarily the same tractor, have the inner filter. Someone had posted that John Deere uses the inner and outer that would fit the Kiotis. So my CK30hst could use the filters of the CT230. Some Kioti members here have purchased the extra filter for their Kiotis.

That would explain the inter filter being absent. If the filter case has the inter filter seat the inter filter could be bought, as you say, and put in. Wonder why they chose to leave it out. My dealer said to change the inter filter every second or third time I change the outer. I do think the inter filter is a good thing in case the outer would develop a hole letting dirt into the engine.

I checked the filter housing and it appears to have a smaller ring inside, I guess i will get the inner filter it certainly will not hurt and as has been stated would be good insurance against a faulty outer filter. Thank You all for the replies.

Just wondering on what tractor you have? And what was the cross reference for the filter? I have a CK30 and need a new one and we don't have a dealer close. But there is a NAPA.

I have a CK30, if you go to NAPA's web sight you can put your "vehicle" in it will then list all the filters that NAPA carries and some of the stores will even list what is in stock the others you must call. You can also order on line for delivery to your home.
