AHP Alphatig 200X

Looking for feedback on this welder. Want to get into TIG as a hobbyist and it looks pretty slick. Have been looking at Everlast products and they look great but for half the money it looks hard to beat even with a warranty that is 3 years as opposed to 5 years. Don't think I can find much better used on Craigslist for what they are getting for these, about $750 delivered. Chuck E seemed to love it on YouTube a few years ago but they were a sponsor of his channel so you have to take it with a grain of salt. Customer support would be the other concern.

Anybody have experience with one?

I have one and have used it a few times. It’s a fine machine with good reviews. But it’s not something that will provide customer service like Miller or Lincoln. I did talk to AHP. They import to San Francisco if I recall correctly. If you are buying it to learn the basics and aren’t relying on it to make a living, I’d say go for it. Otherwise double your outlay and pickup a Lincoln 210MP or the Miller equivalent. ESAB is another option in that Miller/Lincoln price range.
