I recently bought a Ford 5000 with it came a AGRIC AFMJ-rotovator. The gearbox has what looks like a vent-plug on the top of the gearbox, it is flush with the top of the housing and no way to remove it. I'm concerned with the fluid level. Has anyone ran across this issue? At this time I don't have a picture (it's located about 2 hours away).

This is a picture obtained online, (shown here as example)
The plug on mine is flush with housing & there is no way to remove it (it may have to be drilled out, then I would have to disassemble to clean out debris-something I would like to avoid).

This exploded viewof a similar AGRIC gearbox, shows it to be a hex head dipstick. The hex head appears to be pretty short, but the rest is a pretty heavy pipe plug.. Agric:Rotocultivator:AL Series by Agric:Gearbox and Hitch Agric AL

Personally, I would weld, or have a nut, or piece of hex stock long enough to get a wrench on it, welded to the top of it, by a pro. TIG would probably be my choice of weld. And, an undersized piece of hex stock, smaller than the hex on the top of the plug, to allow room to work for a bead, to connect. JMO...
