Check out this link I foudn of a European style TC45:

European New Holland

I have been sleepless trying to decided between industrial and ag tires- Industrial are wider and will give me more stability on my hillsides, while the ag tires will give me more traction and fit betting in my 8 foot vineyard rows.

Now, these euro tires seem to meet both. ANyone know is this is true and if they can be had over here??

Jacob.

Those look like a regular R1 tread pattern to me. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

AND ... I'd be very surprised to see a conventional loader on that beast with the mid chassis ROPS.

Look like R-1W's to me!

Take a read through Glenmac's posts:

Michelin has a tire that looks like a cross between a R-1 and a R-4. If I remember right they call it a XM-27.

Your right Jerry. Mark Chalkey (one of TBN's moderators) was the first to start using them. Michelin and now others are making radial tires like the XM 27 and XM 28 that look more R1 like but have the durability and load support of a R4. They have a variety of tires at their website. Glenmac has put a set on his Kubota L3130, they are of various configuration on the front/back. The tires look great, I priced them out once and found that to be great (costly) as well. Your going to find though for the smaller tractors, your size and model of tire will be limited if available at all. Mark

Those look like R-1 tires.

I just got R-1 tires (4, duals) and have them on my Gravely. They gripped better than turfs on grass and mulch material and kept the tractor from sideslipping vs. bad sideslipping going sideways across a hill on my little muddy trail on my sulky with trailer type treads. However, once they loaded up with mud they lost forward grip going uphill same as the turfs did.

So, I'd get the widest tires you can get for the tractor. I'll let others comment on R-1 vs. R-4.

Not to change the thread here, but is that ROPS of any good? It looks like if you were on the seat and in a seat belt you could get squashed pretty good??? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The rops undoubtablely has engineering behind it. It should stop a complete roll over, maybe just lose a leg?

I remember reading about auto pop up rops on orchard tractors, I think they try to do what they can to accomodate users so the user doesn't remove it the first time it gets in his way.
