Hi, I'm about to pull the trigger on a new LS 4046.... But I'm not sure if I sould go with AG Or R4 Tires.

Main use: for the first 6 mo. will be woodlot work (Firewood) & after that preping land for blueberries.

What are you thoughts?

If the work involves much plowing of soil, or operating a lot in mud, then AG. If mostly FEL work on mostly drier harder surfaces. then R4. I don't know what preparing land for blueberries means. If that means plowing furrows, you are going to want the AG tires.
I never plow anything, and my last 4 tractors have worn R4's. They are ideal for what I do. There is no "perfect do everything best" tire.

The work you described would be AG tires, fall and winter firewood and spring planting. I use mine similarly and wouldn't be without AG's on mine. Good luck!

I have R4 tires on my B26 TLB and they are pretty useless in a little bit of mud, they just slick over and almost no traction for back dragging. It is same in loose soil with R4's as they don't have a lot of traction except on hard surfaces. I have had to pull my brother in law out a couple of time from wet spots using my LS with AG R1 tires where his NH2310 couldn't pull thru with the R4's. Ag tires hold up a load as well as R4 tires but they require higher inflation pressures. I can haul a 3500 pound load with my R1 tires on my LS and they don't squat a bit, but they do feel like they are on a rub board when on hard dirt. They are a bit narrower than the equivalent R4 tire also and I think they wear faster on hard surfaces which is why construction site equipment uses the R4 tires.

Wish I had ags. The R4's look better but the first snowfall made me wish I had the ags.

I have had both and now I have R4's on both tractors and like them as they are a tougher tire for working in the woods etc. .I have no problem pulling a 3 bottom plow in sod ground wet or dry .I have no problem in the snow with them and we get lots of snow where I live . I have been told by a dealer ag tires have about 10 % more traction capability , not sure if that number is more or less . I have no problems with r4 tires and I was very sketical about them at first . We have briar bushes along the edges of my fields which are very sharp and go easily through an ag tire but not the case with the r4 . I haven't used the 2650 in snow yet but no problem pulling a culitvator and other implements for garden work with R4's .

I like R4s in the woods, their wider stance means they dont rut my roads as much and they make the tractor more stable on uneven ground plus they are tougher and lasts much longer.

Mine do fine in muck and snow...up to a point, but then I wont venture into the woods in 2 feet of snow and I dont try to drive thru swamps.

Had ag's on my first tractor, but have R4's on my new one. Honestly I don't notice a great deal of difference. I've gotten both stuck in mud. Never used the ags in snow as we didn't get snow down in Texas :) Have used the new one here in PA a couple winters now and no issues with traction in snow on the R4's.

I have a Mahindra 5035HST and to clear snow I hook up the 7' box blade, tilt it so it'll dig in a little, run in medium range gear, drop it down and go full pedal on the hydro tranny and I don't spin or slip....this is 4 wheel drive tractor too, so that definitely helps, but even in 2wd I don't feel like the R4's are less grippy.

What part of the Country are you from?
Does it snow where you are?
