Ag Chain Identification

I realize that I'm probably in the wrong section, but there seems to be more correspondence here. Question for you men. I have a set of covington planters (two row). I built a frame for a one row with a grain attachment. Does anyone know what type and size chain is used on these planters. I know I can call Covington and get a chain, these people have been very helpful, but for my benefit I would like to know what type and size chain this is. Thanhs for any help

Do you have a chain for it? The size is stamped on every other link, if you clean off the side of it.

If not, you have to measure the sprocket. Or take it to the farm supply store, & match it up.

I'd hate to have someone guess as to what chain you need, without a model number at least of your planter - Covington has made them for a long time, no garentee they kept the same chain size....

Mike , Paul, I really want to thank you guys for taking time to respond to my question. I know that there is a stamped number on this flat linked chain but mine is in a bad state of oxidation, therfore can't read the #'s. Covington calls it a #33 chain. No prefix or suffix is included in their parts manual. I'm hoping the link posted will shed some light. Once again guys, THANKS for the info.

Mike, thanks for the link. Exactly what I needed. Man the people on this site are great. I have spent the last several days talking with older farmers, parts men and women at various dealerships and salvage yards, without success. Thanks for your help!
