Aftermarket Seatbelt Install

Howdy. My tractor didn't come with the seatbelt and I've been in some spots where I would have felt better strapped in. There was no way I was giving Deere $170 (!!!) for their model. Enter Northern Tool and their $29.99 belt.

I was also somewhat disappointed with the original Deere brackets. I bent the one with my hand while testing how strong it was. Didn't figure that was going to hold my 200+lbs when I needed it to. So here is my install of the Northern Tool one...

This also happens to be my first use of the plasma cutter. I could use some practice at making better looking cuts.

I'm currently painting it so installed pictures are a couple days away.

Nice job! I would like to add a retractable one to my machine-it just has a loose one now. The new Surplus Center catalog had some nice ones in it as well.

As you can probably see by the grind marks, I tried three variations on the mounting design. There is very little room in the operator's station so the retractable part had to be positioned just right. Deere's belt has longer mounting tabs to put the retractor higher up. Northern Tool sells a belt like that for $19.99. I wanted one that was lower and out of the way for just jumping on and going. I literally had just enough room to put it under the seat. The controls layout on the 4100 may dictate which you need to purchase.
