Mowing Aftermarket Mower Blades

Curious if anybody knows of a supplier of aftermarket mower blades for my JD 72" mid mount mower deck? Thanks for your help.

I'm pretty sure I've seen gator blades for the 72" MMM at http://www.jackssmallengines.com/Gator.htm

.....however just tried the site and the page is n/a. I have been to it several times before, though.

Just this afternoon I went looking for aftermarket blades for my 60" JD MMM. The oem blades don't seems to hold an edge very well compared to the blades on my JD GT 275. I found that Oregon (chain saw) makes lots of replacement blades for JD equipment. Anybody have any experience with the Oregon or the Gator blades?

I haven't had any dealings with their mower blades but Oregon makes fine chain saw chain and bars. If the quality of their saw parts are an indication then the blades will be great.

Sure would be nice to find a lower price than the $60 a set price I pay for the JD blades. The Oregon blades would likely be a higher quality set.

My 1650 Cub cadet uses "Hardened" blades.
I have not found something similar to them anywhere. They hold an edge good as long as they do not hit gravel. Gravel pieces tend to shatter the edge on them real quick.

my only experiance with jack's small engine was a set of gator blades of craftsmen lawnmower 44".. I got a valve for a CH air compressor /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif... then i had to reorder and go thru customer service department they were even more confused with no clue of what i ordered or where it came from..
