Has anyone replaced the bucket cylinders on their 735 loader with aftermarket cylinders? If so, what brand/size did you end up using?

I'm currently looking at the following:

Magister WCT 2.5x24 (2.5" bore, 24" stroke, 32" closed, 56" open)

InternationalHydraulicsusa IMW-2524 (2.5" bore, 24" stroke, 32" closed, 56" open)

Xtremecylinders XBU2528 (2.5" bore, 24" stroke, 36" closed, 64" open)

Thanks.

I couldn't find cylinders to replace mine on the 4000 and found just getting them rebuilt easier.

Are you trying to get more power or the ones you have are not rebuildable? I am not sure what year they started going metric but some of the loaders have metric sizes including the pins.

I figured out what size I need...2.5 bore, 30 inch stroke. That gets me to the 38 inch retracted length I need. (I have determined my bucket and bucket cylinders are not original to the loader) My loader is old...pin size is 1 inch.

My old cylinders have some issues. I can rebuild...but at a cost. I will need to mix and match parts...for example one of the glands was damaged and repaired in the past and now takes a different type of packing than the other cylinder. The rods have a few deep pits, and the cylinder inside walls are a little rough. (I'm going to attempt to hone those today.)

Replacement might be the most cost effective method. As a plus, I will almost double the power by doing this, as all the new cylinders are 1.5" rods, and mine is a 2" rod.

What I really want to know is if there is any real difference between the 3 aftermarket brands I listed, or should I go with the cheapest?

Are there any better brands? Will the aftermarket cylinders have an equivalent material strength and longevity like the old cylinders had?

Thanks

I like the Magister brand, they are Russian, the other brands you have listed are the same maker. Their is also Chief which is also eastern europe. Magister has a lot experience and they have worked well for me.
It does sound like you need to dump those old ones. The steel is fine quality and should not be an issue. I would order seals kits at the same time. Just me.
