2015 B2601
I purchased a new BX1860D new in dec 2010, with fel, fine cut belly mower. I am contemplating something a little bigger and I am looking for advice on what lines to look in. Would like to go to BX2670, B2620 or something along those lines.. I want to stay 4WD and about a 54 inch belly mower with a detatchable FEL. My local dealer has 3 of the 2620 units that are being discontinued, or would the replacement series be a better choice? I have my 25K guarantee leter and clear bill of sale from Kubota credit. Do they run better sales in the fall, or in the Spring? I have my BX1860, so I am looking around before I leap. Mine has 140 hrs on it and they are offering 8500 for the Tractor/ 48 in fine cut mower, & the LA203 loader. Am I being taken?

specifically, I am looking for features as well as power to justify an upgrade. Namely what models have down pressure on the 3 pt hitch? Which ones start having speed control? The info that I have been looking at gives the BX2670 only 100 lbs more weight than the BX1870. I primarily use it to mow about 1/2 acre of yard, and it is used to plow up a little garden or to do a landscape project like move a few tons of crush n run into place or carry around mulch to the flower beds. All in all, it has been very handy for the last 4.5 years? That is why I am on the fence!

You can probably get a smoking deal on a B2620 now. It fits the mower and loader size you want. And it is a workhorse. Just search some of my pics.

None of these small tractors have 3pt down pressure. I think most have cruise control now. My B2620 does not have position control, but the quarter inching works when you get used to it. The new B2601 has left side brakes which are nice, but I can still awkwardly use my right side steering brakes.

What my B2620 lacks compared to the new series isn't a deal breaker to me. No arm rests, no tilt steering (I find ergonomics good), no loader quick attach (can get aftermarket), but I do like the fact that it has simple reliable mechanical PTO engagement with a clutch pedal to engage. Just a very simple reliable tractor. No electronics or complicated engine emissions controls.

I was going to trade up to a newer series, but I see people having issues with them. The old B2620 just keeps going to work and doing everything I need it to do.

My suggestion would be to go on Kubota's website as the 2620 and it's replacement 2601 are both on the website. You can compare the specs. I had a B2920 and the 2601 has some nice upgrades. You could get a quote on the in stock 2620's vs the new 2601 and see if those upgrades are worth it....to you. Btw, no down pressure on the 3pts. The 2601 is under the hp final tier IV requirements for dpf etc. so no worry there.

Varmint gave some good advice on selling...I don't think a sale is worth waiting as it may not be offered. It sounds like you have been relatively happy with your 1870. I would keep it over the other BX's you mentioned. Unless you were thinking of a BX25 for the BH, if not, then the jump up to a 2620 or 2601 you mentioned would seem a better choice for what you described on the want list.

There is a kubota pin on quick attach for the 2620 that works...it's the same as the one for a b3200/3300.
I think someone on the site stated the new SS qa from the b2650 and b3350 fit the 2601. I'm sure someone will chime in to confirm or deny the SS qa.

My BX1860 has 141hrs on it now, and runs perfectly. I was just getting an itch for something new, But I cannot find anything that justifies spending around 10K to trade to a newer one. I think I will find me a Fiberglass Canopy kit for my BX1860 and enjoy what I already own. Thanks for the information.

You have a nice tractor that is well cared for, paid off, and the right size for the size of property you are working on. Can you get a new or used 54" mmm for your current BX instead? Philip.

I pulled the trigger on ordering a B2601 with 54 in MMM, FEL with quick attatch 54 in bucket and the R4 industrial tires. I added a fiberglass canopy as well as work light to it. Now I have to wait for the order... They said about 2 weeks to get it in. I cannot wait!
