hello all, this is my first post so go easy on me and thank you in advance for any replies. my cousin called and wants to sell me his zero turn. its a 2004 bush hog, front mount, kohler engine i think 25 hp but now sure on that. its a 60 inch and has 335 hrs on it. im pretty sure its been well maintained thus far, he mowed maybe 3-4 acres of his farm place with it. he wants 3700 for it. im just wondering if anybody has or knows of any issues these units had and also if thats a fair price? i live in sw mn.

I am a fan of front mount mowers. Don't have experience with bush hog but have used John Deere 725 and currently a grasshopper 721d. I would get the model number and do a search for for specs and pricing. Sounds fair on price for the low hours but it is 10 years old. Worth checking into at any rate. A similar Grasshopper would be close to 10k. Good luck.

thanks for the reply, around here grasshopper is king. my plan was to buy a used grasshopper mid mount sometime this summer. probably would have to spend around 6-7k for one in this neck of the woods. this bush hog just got me interested because of the price, and i know it was maintained by a very fussy farmer... i know kohlers are good engines, just not sure how many hours i can expect to get out of it if properly maintained. i cant find much info on the web about front mount b.h. but plenty on m.m. sooo, hoping sombody with one will chime in.

If the Kohler is horizontal shaft I would guess 2000 hours. Lot of life left. Guess it's a little cool up there to try it out and cut some grass.

Just thought I would update incase anybody is looking into one of these mowers. I did end up paying 3500 and a case of beer for the unit. It has been an excellent mower. It gets beat on pretty good at my place and hasn't given me any issues at all. The Kohler has plenty of power for the 60 in deck however I would think twice before running a 6 ft with the same engine. It has a great ride with the suspension seat. I can get around trees pretty good but the deck is centered so anything smaller then like 12" did and I'm rubbing the tire. No pump cooling fans but haven't had problems. I've put on about 200 hrs and am very happy with the purchase. Would recommend.
