yea the too means also

I'll try to make it short.
I wanted a new Gator XUV which really is not the point of the thread but if you knew me says tons. I drive a '89 Buick 100 miles round trip to work 5 days/week. My tractor is a '01 4610 that I gave $13,500 for and its the nicest thing I've ever had. A new XUV can go well north of $13,500.

Enough about me.
Mid last week I filled out the online build it/ request for quote for a 625i w/delux cab( green and yellow of course). By end of week had not gotten the quote back so called my local dealer ....

Spoke with salesman X "sorry we did not see your RFQ but here it is- $11,900usd"
So I says " order it!!!" (still gives me goose bumps):confused2:

Sounds great huh? but...
Today (Monday) got the official response to my online request and its $11,800!! 100 bucks less!!!

so what am I going to pay? I know 100 bucks compared to the absurd cost of the gator aint much but ....

I went by the dealer at lunch today and was reminded why I shop online - talk about a DGAS shop - did not get to talk to anyone.
Called when I got back to the office - put on hold - talk about a DGAS shop!

Finally sent the two salesmen I've been dealing with an email asking "what am I going to pay?"

OK TBN - Thanks for letting me vent and ... what should I pay??:confused3:

Low price wins at same dealership. It is not your fault their e-mail response is slow but it worked to your advantage this time. Did you already sign off on the $100 more price?

You pay the quote.

""Spoke with salesman X "sorry we did not see your RFQ but here it is- $11,900usd"".

This comment from salesman X implies the $11,900.00 was the amount of the quote....he was incorrect. You now have the official online quote in black & white. You pay $11,800.00

Anything in writing trumps anything communicated verbally only.

Write a check for $200 less than the lower quote & hand it to them -see it they keep it or hand it back! MikeD74t

Now, Now......Lets stay rational. A hundred bucks on a $10,000 + item is not a very high percentage...and I feel certain your dealer will honor the lower price quoted. I dont think playing games with your word is a good idea. You may not be able to talk with your dealer when you want....but it IS the busiest time of the year for most of these guys....and this is not a huge ticket item in the scope of their business. Stay freindly.....you may need some service some day.....and good relations are in your best interests too. My two cents. :)

PS: I hear allot of folks that want to "beat their dealer" and for him to take a "bath". I think these guys are due a fair profit and we should want them to prosper and be there to service our needs.....no? Or, do you want to buy tractors and machines for $100 less from Ebay?

Negotiate like the old man on Pawn Stars :D

Old Man: So what do you want for it?
Customer:$10,000
Old Man: Ain't happending. I'll give you $700
Customer: C'mon, how about $8,000?
Old Man: I can do a thousand.
Customer: Can you do $6000?
Old Man: I can do $600
Customer: Ok, $1000 is good
Old Man: Write him up Chumley.

I'd mention the $100 difference but I'd also be prepared to pay the price I agreed to originally.
