Has anyone added Work lights to an L2800 using the existing wiring and fusing.

I have a factory pre wired 10amp fuse and wiring stubbed out under the rear fenders for work lights. And am fixin to install 2-55 watt lights on the ROPS.

Am I lookin for trouble /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif or will it be OK? According to my calculations the 2 lights will only draw about 9.1 amps.

Thanks yall..............KC /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have installed work lites on my L3400. Should be same as L2800. The only thing I didn't care for is that those wires are hot when the ignition is on and not the light switch. I decided to go with the Kubota lights that have a switch built into them. They also came with nice brakets for mounting to the ROPS. I don't know the wattage but they are quite bright. I'd guess around 5 amps. I use the lights in winter with my rear mounted snow blower.

On my L3000 I added a rear work light to the under side of the ROPS. I spliced into the wire that goes to the rear up by the dash board. I installed a waterpproof toggle switch on the dash to control the lights.

I was going to fish the wiring up inside the ROPS tubing but decided to use the velcro style wire ties running the wire along the ROPS. This arrangement has worked just fine. The starter switch does have to be in the ON position in order for the lights to work.

I just added one work light to the rear of the rops so far. I added an in line switch in the hole beside the rear lights. I changed the ten amp fuse for a 15 amp fuse because the 55 watt halogen's I'm putting on had a 15 amp in line fuse on them that i removed. The second light will go on the canopy and be switched separately. Both lights will use the existing wiring under the rear fenders. I also drilled holes and ran the wire thru the rops. Just looks neater that way.
