I posted about this in the hydraulics forum a while ago and never got very far. I would like to add a hydraulic side link, and possibly hydraulic top link as well. Mainly to greatly increase speed of my box blade work when making swales and terracing, etc. Of course money is always the issue, but I had the thought that maybe I could incorporate some of my existing mid mount mower lift hydraulics that is no longer being used into a top/tilt setup.

The mower lift consists of two cylinders that appear to only retract, lifting the deck a few inches. This is operated by a lever that pokes out from under the seat that can be moved side to side. When I learned that those cylinders were not "two way" that kind of ended the idea for a while.

Then I come across an old thread by mayyaz33 that mentioned his t273 having a standard rear remote
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/tym-owning-operating/124652-rear-remote-options-t273.html

So I revisit the idea and hope for fellow tym owners input. What I would like to do is have hydraulic tilt at minimum, with the least cost as possible. Would it be possible to just add a 2 way cylinder for the side link and hook the deck lift control to operate that? I dont really understand hydraulic valves and float and all that, to really describe what I have now, so I took some pictures. The first picture is the main valve down below my right foot. 2nd picture is what I assume is the remote valve under the seat for the deck hydraulics. 3rd picture is connection point on rear from that under seat valve, where I was hoping to connect a tilt cylinder. 4th picture is one of the deck lift cylinders. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Does the lever under the seat spring back to the center when you let go and of it from either or both left and right extreme's?

yes the lever springs back to center from both left and right.

I did some digging in the service manual, it looks like that remote could be used to control a double action cylinder (which I now think the deck lift cylinders are indeed DA, but only the retract side is hooked up to a pressure port on the valve) I attached a diagram, I dont think the B side is hooked up to anything, but its my understanding I could connect the A and B sides to a DA cylinder and control it with the underseat lever? If so, is there also a way to split A and B to both a top link cylinder and side cylinder, and be able to select either one without having to buy a new valve?

Brooksto, MVR answered you before I could respond. He'll guide you to the right choice, I just wanted to tell you what your pictures show me.
Your first picture is your loader valve. 2d picture is the same as my standard 2nd remote. I don't use mine at this time - I will use it if I ever get a backhoe attachment. It's a double action valve, with a lever to reach down tween your legs and activate a valve. Awkward though it is - it is what it is. Your last two pictures are relative to your individual set-up...IE don't correspond to mine.
In essence, what you are asking to do - on the cheep - isn't going to work. One valve will not - to my knowledge - run two separate functions. You can tap off from the power beyond section of your loader valve and pipe in an additional 2 spool valve - or 3 spool - like I have done - for a relatively small amount of cash. 3 spool valve, hose, fittings and a little elbow grease and you are done. It's up to you. Check out prince valves, they are reasonable and my thought is - why set up for just two uses while you are messing around doing it? Sooner or later you're going to want/need a 3rd valve; if it's already there - just plug in and play! My thoughts, your money and time. Good luck, Greg

Then it sounds like you should be able to use that control valve to operate a double acting cylinder. As far as using that control valve to control multiple cylinders, yes it can be done with either a manual diverter or electric diverter valve. Not so sure that you really want to be reaching between your legs as often as you would be with controlling the hydraulic links that you are wanting. May want to go along with Gregster613 and just get a complete new system and put the valves where they are easier to reach and control.

Good luck ;)

MVR- Have you done a side link for T273? I sent you an inquiry on your site but never heard anything.

myyaz33, if you sent me something this year, it never showed up at my end. I just did search for T273 in my emails and gregster613 is the guy that showed up. It must be out in cyberspace some where.

Yes I can do a side link for you. Fill out the contact page on my website and we can go from there.;)

thanks Brian and everyone else, that was very helpful. I think I will keep an eye out for a DA hydraulic cylinder of the appropriate length when funds allow and report back on my progress

You should be looking for a 4" stroke unit. ;)
