I bought one of the Bearcat PTO driven chippers and power it with my Case 900 diesel about 90 hp. Jambed the shredder once and the tractor didn`t even notice it but the drive belt on the chipper sure did - smoked pretty good. On this chipper I spent so much time carving up the limbs to get em to fit that I started to wish I had bought the (much more expensive) hyd feed roller unit.
Wondering if anybody has built and added on a hydraulic feed roller drive unit to a machine like this. This Bearcat is well built so I don`t think I need to worry about destroying it. Questions arise such as how big to make the rollers, serrated teeth on the roller, non-powered roller on the bottom, Anybody have any experience with this.
