Well, I finally got my lights wired and installed for night time plowing. Boy what a difference. Dont know how I managed without them. So I figured that since this winter is never gonna end and Im getting tired of swinging the plow by hand, Id use the info here to add a 12vdc valve and switch. I figure it may take just as long as the lighting project or, it wont snow again until next year (which would be great).
Just ordered the 12vdc vavle from surplus center. Updates to follow.

Anyone got any suggestions on quick connect hydraulic fittings? I just looked at the deere website, looks to be about $130 for a pair of dis-connects, adapters for attaching to mounting plate, o-rings and plugs.

You could have gotten some from the Surplus Center...But not the Pioneer ones that JD uses.

tractor supply has a set of quick connects. Looks like ill be good there, just need to figure a mounting plate. Time to hit up the machine shop guys at work.

Next question. I was cleaning up my cylinders. There are two, one each side and they only have one hydraulic attachment. Aren't they both going to push or pull at the same time? Am I missing something here?

Yes, I forgot TSC has the Pioneers, just never in stock at my local one-but that's another gripe for another day...

You have 2 SA (single acting) cylinders on your plow, when one is pushing, the other will retract and visa/versa. The valve will see the 2 SA cylinders as 1 DA (dual acting) cylinder.

Search the "snowplow" threads in the Hydraulics forum (where your post should have been;)), this has all been gone over 100+ times.

Yeah, thats funny. Just after I typed that I figured Id search. TSC had 3/8" couplers but they only had 1/2" dust caps.

Finally got my vavle a little late due to the snow storm up here. Went out to TSC to get some fittings and they had nothing. Well at least I got the green paint and can work on rigging up a way to mount it. Think Ill weld a couple of threaded posts to the loader arm and the bolt it down. Guess Ill be getting all my stuff at surplus center tonight.

Anyone know if the quick couplers at surpluscenter are interchangeable with the stock couplers on a JD 4510? Mine are Parker 60 series. SC's web site lists a couple 3/8 couplers that are compatible with parkers 4000 or 4200 series. 60 Series trade name connectors on Parkers website have 4000 series part numbers.
