- Kubota BX24
First I have to say TBN is a great resource. I have learned a lot just reading posts that often do not seen related to my interests but prove instructive. Now to my question.
I have a Kubota BX24. I want to add a control valve to operate rear implements for example a dump trailer, log splitter, hydraulic cylinder I will use as a jack/ram etc. The valve will be mounted on my rear fender. I plan to use the existing backhoe hydraulic quick connects. I will have quick disconnects on the cylinder ports for connection to whatever I'm using. I think I want a valve that comes back to center when the lever is not being pushed or pulled. Is that a none detent valve? Should the center be "open" or "closed"? Does anyone know of an appropriate valve from Surplus Center?
As you can tell I am a novice to hydraulics. Is there anything else I should be taking into consideration?
Lastly, what are your thoughts on using the BX24 to power a log splitter? I have inherited some splitter components, mainly a cylinder is mounted on an Ibeam with a wedge. The valve and engine are NG not sure about the pump. Do I replace those items or just run it off my tractor?
Thanks,
Yaunch
