Adding 3rd Function Valve to JD990 w/o Power Beyond

Hello, this is my first post to the forum and I must say that there is a tremendous amount of great information on this site and in particular this forum.

I understand that in order to add a WR Long style 3rd function valve I can enter into the output port of my loader SCV assembly and connect the valve in series with the loader valve and rockshaft.

I have been looking at the parts drawing and it appears that there are 3 besides the Work Ports on the SCV ValveView attachment John Deere - Parts Catalog - Frame 5.pdf and I believe that I need to either use the (C) line identified in the drawing as item number 11(SCV-C) or the line identified in the drawing as item number 12 (SCV-T).

Has anyone completed this style of valve on this style of tractor without the PB function before? I have done a fair amount of reading and there are quite a few similar installs with the exception they utilize the PB functionality previously installed on the tractor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It does not matter where you get the PB from.

If it is an open center hyd system, all valves are in series, so find a good place for the valve and connect in series, and fun the PB to the next valve, and run the OUT to any return hose as it is low pressure.

Thanks J.J., maybe I wasn't clear enough on my intentions. I'm adding an electric over hydraulic open center valve 12 VDC 10 GPM OC DA SOLENOID VALVE ITEM NUMBER: 9-6136 on a D03 sub plate from surplus center. I know I need to add it between my loader valve (SCV) and Three point hitch.

I'm trying to determine which line in my original post PDF drawing I need to remove and insert the hoses I have acquired to do this. I'm thinking it is item number 11 in the drawing, but I'm not sure.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Looking at the PDF does not show which line is the PB line. #11 or #12

You have to look on the valve and identify all the ports if possible.

Are there any letters on the valve to ID the ports?

If you have a manual, it should show you the ports with labels.
