John Deere 3320
I know it has been shown before but Hard has a post about his 2520 and thought I would show what I didi with my 3320. I put in dual front and dual rear lights on my 3320. I am using a relay system so all I needed was the one connection (switched) in the rear. I built mine so that I had control of the fronts and rears independently in the right side panel on my 3320. My lights are the trap beam tractor lights from Farm and Fleet ($12 each) and they are mounted to the John Deere Light Brush guard kit ($30). I drilled the extra holes in the rear to accomodate the bottom rear lights. Switches I used were $14 each from John Deere as well. I have about $100 in the entire light install with 12V receptical and relay costs as well. All my connections are terminated in a Radio Shack Kit box in the rear.

Here are the lights Before the mod

Here ther are after adding the lights.

Here are the switches. Far right arms the lights (can be used to turn all on or all off). The two in front each control a pair (both fronts on one switch and both rears on the second switch).

Here is the kit box where my connections and relay are made. The cig adapter is for the 25gal Fimco 12V sprayer I use.

WOW!!! Nice mod.

I see maybe one small problem. The lights that point forward might need a small blinder on the inside of each light to keep it out of your eyes. I'm thinking if you turn right or left the lights will cause you to see spots.

Wanted to ask how you routed the wires down from the ROPS. Did you run them inside the ROPS tubing or just along the outside?

That looks great. I bought the forward lighting kit from JD and mounted on my 3520. I do not like it. First, IMO, the location is poor. They will blind you if you turn your head to either side. Thay also attract the bugs right to your face. The factory kit doesnt give me independent control of the forward lights(assuming I wired it correctly). They come on with the headlights. I need to re-do mine using the light switches in the console like yours. I have actually turned mine to the side/rear to get them out of my face. I am going to see what it would take for me to re-do mine using the independent console switches like yours. Again, excellent job.

I routed them down the rops. I bought some 14 gauge 3 conductor wire from Menards (like a home depot or Lowes) for $5 for 15' - it is in the isle with the extension cords. Cut that wire in half. I used a $20 Fish Tape from Lowes to help run the wires. First I folded the ROPS. I then ran the fish up the ROPS from the bottom - there is a hole there. I then taped on a piece of 14ga wire and pulled the wire through the ROPS. Make sure and pull enough through to make it easy to work with but do not pull too far as you want it eas to grab from the bottom as well. Once it was through, I fed a section from the top back down until I could see it through the hole in the middle where the lights mount. I used a bolt to thn push that tip through the hole and pulled out enough to mount my lights. I worked from the top down from that point so I could keep control of the slack at the bottom. Once the wires were installed on the lights mounted, I ran the wire through to the bottom and routed it up to my connection box/relay. I then zip tied up the wires nice and tidy (after connecting them and testing them of course).

I have a solution for you that will fix both these issues when only one set of lights are installed. I will post it in your other thread.

Real nice job with lights on your JD 3320.One question why did you not cut all three of you light hole out? As i always say you never can have enuff lights. The next thing your going to have to put on your tractor is a daul beacon light.Real nice job!!

You know I contemplated just cutting it out whil I had the tools out. It was so easy though I could do it anytime I guess so that is why I waited. I guess I do not need a becon really when doing my own yard. Really wanted the lights so I could see better while mowing late after work. The other night IO mowed in the dark at 8:00pm. Fall is here.

Thanks again Matt for the work on egtting the switch part numbers. Wished I would have ordered one more while I ws at it.

Funny thing too - one of my switches is outlined instead of filled in (as it looks in my picture) - Kinda like it missed a step in the switch paint process. I mounted it next to the original three switches so it is not really even noticeable.

I must have missed it... Can someone post it again, the part number for the lamp switches? Thanks.
