Added bed rails to my RTV500

I wanted to increase the ability to carry more firewood in the bed of my 500. At the corners of the bed, there are square channels covered with a plastic plug. I used 1 inch square steel tubing that fits perfect in these tubes. Bolted on 2x10's and added one across behind the back rest. Turned out good in my opinion and best of all its removable. The whole thing will slide out by just lifting it out.

Thanks fellas. I will be able to use that board behind the back rest to mount stuff to as well. I'm thinking about adding a small winch to it to help hoisting deer into the back.

I did the same thing, but had to offset it for the high intake and went with a more open approach. You'll find it great for getting extra stuff in the box.

I had greedy boards made for my 900 but they were aluminum checker plate. But didn't fit after installing the high air intake on it. Sorry, no picture.

Spud- Yours looks really great. I did think about doing something like that. I've been wanting to get a welder and when I do, I will probably fab up some rails out of steel. I went with the big blocky 2x10's for durabilty. I didn't want bowing or breaking when tossing and filling with firewood.
